Wе hаνе a Graco Snugride thаt wе used fοr ουr daughter (ѕhе′s 2 now). Wе′re expecting a baby іn June bυt wе don’t know thе gender. Thе carseat wе hаνе hаѕ pink details, ѕο сеrtаіnƖу wouldn’t work іf іt’s a boy. Sο thаt’s mу qυеѕtіοn:
Bυу a nеw carseat, οr a cover fοr thе ancient one?
I checked аnԁ thе carseat hasn’t bееn recalled, ѕο I know іt’s subdue safe аnԁ іt’s іn fаntаѕtіс condition. It wаѕ really barely used. Wе hаԁ two infant carriers аnԁ thіѕ one wаѕ used οnƖу a couple times a month. I regret giving thе οthеr one away…іt wasn’t pink!

Id certainly start with just trying to get a cover for that one. No sense in buying a whole new one if you dont have to.
Why not try to sell to a consignment shop or place it on craigslist and find a car seat either on craigslist or at a consignment shop that is more neutral?
I would just get a cover. That’s a excellent car seat and, since its in excellent condition, I would want to hang on to it.
I would just go ahead and buy a new cover. Sometimes I’ve found the covers are nearly as much as the car seats, tho. If that turns out to be the case then possibly just sell that one and buy a new one. If the cover is dramatically cheaper- I’d just go with that.
Well I have a 16 month ancient boy and I’m due any day with my second boy and we bought him a new car seat because I reckon that there are just some things that a new baby must get that is new.
Like a new mattress for the crib if your keeping the same on just by a new mattress and I reckon a new car seat and baby carriage must be new for the baby to,,As well as bottles and stuff like that.
Hope this helped.=]
If the one with the pink cover isn’t past the expiry date (I know you said it hasn’t been recalled and it’s in fantastic condition, so I’m assuming it is subdue excellent that way, too!), I’d just get a cover for the ancient one.
Two things to look out for:
Make sure the car seat cover fits VERY snugly. Obviously you don’t want extra bunching of the fabric.
Make sure the fee of the cover doesn’t defeat the purpose of saving the ancient car seat. I am not sure on how much covers are, compared to the car seat you already have, but in my experience, companies make it pointless to hold replacement parts because they jack the fee up so much, it makes more sense to buy a whole new item outright. So if the car seat was $150 and the car seat cover is $100, it might make more sense to just get a new car seat.
Buy a new cover if you feel it is necessary. But as a mom of a boy with 2 older sisters, I can guarantee you that pink will not make him gay.
I despise to say it, but a baby boy is not going to care about having a pink carseat. In fact, no one is going to care of a baby boy has a pink car seat. Now if you dressed him in your daughters dresses, that might be a problem…
Wow, I must be bone idle and cheap. I would just use it as-is, pink details and all. LOL.
