I would say middle back cause in case of an impact from either side the child is not right there at the door and as for the latch if properly attached holds the seat much tighter to the seat so protects the kid even more I used both you can never be safe enough when it comes to the protection of our modest angels.

The best place to place a car seat is in the middle of the back. In the front is not excellent with the air bags. If you were to get into an auto accident, then it would not make a difference, both would securely hold, but I would do a modest site seeking my self to see what available, and what has the highest protection rating on it.

The backseat. Either in the middle or behind the front passenger seat. Anchors provide an “additional” form of security, but standard seatbelts are just fine.
